Wisdom's Shining Path

“The way of the godly is like the first gleam of dawn that shines brighter and brighter until the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18  In order to walk in God’s way, we must include Him in our daily plans and ask Him to show us the path that is best for us.  Also, we must believe that God is working in ways that we can’t see.  His Word is to be our guide in every decision that we make.  Often it seems like there is a season of waiting before our prayers are answered.  But remember that, as believers, we are supercharged with the glorious Holy Spirit who fills us with hope.  We are citizens of heaven and joint heirs with Christ.  God always has great plans for us, Jeremiah 29:11.  Our Lord Jesus lives in us today.

Every blessing is given to us by our heavenly Father.   Trust Him and stay steadfast in faith as you walk on His path of blessing for it leads to eternal life.  Wisdom from God is available to all without restrictions.  If we prize wisdom, she will honor us.  When the temptations of worldly pleasures and self-indulgence incite our weaknesses and we fail to heed the Spirit’s gentle guidance, our feet wander from God’s path.  However, He will lovingly forgive those who repent and follow Him.  The love of the Father is unconditional; He cherishes our fellowship with Him.  God instructs us to ask for wisdom which He liberally supplies.  Take heed of the warnings in Proverbs, chapters 3 and 4, and pay close attention to God’s wisdom which is far greater than the wisdom of the world.  In an age where self-reliance is touted as all-important, Proverbs 3:5 tells us not to lean on our own understanding.  As we choose to walk in God’s ways, it keeps us from needless suffering.  Proverbs has much to say about the foolish ones who ignore wisdom’s voice.

Proverbs 4:25 says, “Look straight ahead and fix your eyes on what lies before you.  Mark out a straight path for your feet; then stick to that path and stay safe.  Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.”  Develop sound judgment and let God make the necessary changes in you that reflect His holiness.  Let God’s Word go to work in your life.  When we learn to highly esteem the Spirit of wisdom, we will enjoy the blessings and honor she gives.  “The profit of wisdom is better than silver, and her wages are far greater than gold.” Proverbs 3:14
