The Word of Truth

“In Him we have heard and believed the word of truth.” Ephesians 1:11    Christians who belong to a church hear sermons on a regular basis. God’s Word is being broadcast on the internet, radio, and TV. People are tuning in to the Word of God. But some Christians have a better spiritual diet because they read the Bible at home during the week and hear sermons at church. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17 It is the Word of God that we consistently hear and apply by faith in our lives that renews our minds and transforms us. Our spirit within feeds on God’s Word and matures as we obey it. Breakthroughs come when the Word of truth sets us free from wrong thinking and bad habits.

In this ministry, many of the precious people we serve have been abused, molested, sex trafficked, abandoned by their father or mother, or are deeply entrenched in addictions. These hurting individuals are running from God and themselves. They don’t realize that God loves them unconditionally and wants to embrace them just as they are with all their failures. They usually don’t hear His words of love, so we share Jesus’ message with the lost. “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I (Jesus) came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Mark 2:17 When I talk to someone who has failed miserably in life, I recognize their pain and anger as they tell me their story. They often acknowledge that they’ve hit the bottom and can’t break free from addictions or their past on their own. When I tell them how much God loves them and Jesus wants to set them free, it startles them sometimes. I’ve seen hope in the eyes of young men and old men who finally understood the truth about God’s incredible, personal love. I’ve seen the lives of broken women absolutely transformed by the grace of God!

When I tell people that Jesus died for them and wants to forgive their sins, they must make a choice. They must accept the truth by faith. They must believe that God created them and knows them intimately. He sees their hardship, knows their pain, and offers a bright future for them. Seeds of truth are being sown. Forgiveness is available. A new life in Christ is being offered to the wounded. Other people will come and water the spiritual seeds that were planted. And together we pray for God to bring in the harvest. The Word of God is alive and active. We have special resources to help you dig deeper into the scriptures.
