The Bible give us many instructions for living a life that pleases God. Our human nature needs help in order to please God in our daily walk. Jesus sent the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, to bless and help believers in every way. He is the Helper, the One who comes alongside us. John 16:13 tells us that the Spirit of Truth will guide us into all truth. He knows all things and reveals the amazing love and glorious attributes of Jesus Christ to those who seek Him. The Holy Spirit draws all men to Jesus. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, John 16:8. As we learn to rely on the power and wisdom of the Spirit of Truth, our own efforts and reasoning will prove to be inadequate. Self-sufficiency causes people to stumble and miss the mark. We can make some costly mistakes and even lead others astray. But when we seek the Spirit of Truth, our wise Counselor, success will come. As we practice actively listening to the Spirit, He will reveal truth to us. The Lord speaks to His people through the scriptures and through the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 3:4-7, tells us that the Lord gives us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, but we must search for it like valuable treasure. If someone hid a million dollars somewhere in your home, it is likely that you would tear the house apart looking for it. But the wisdom that is available to us through the Holy Spirit is much more valuable than money or possessions. The blessings and benefits that God has prepared and made available to those who seek Him are exceedingly precious and are stored up for His children. Make it a habit to have quiet time daily to listen to the Spirit of Truth. You’ll reap great rewards and become acquainted with the power and love of the Holy Spirit dwelling in your heart. By the Spirit, believers are adopted into God’s family and worship Him with thankful hearts. Romans 8:14 tells us that all who are led by the Spirit are sons of God.
