The world is going through some rapid and unexpected changes. This causes some people to be anxious and others become dismayed. Scripture tells us to seek God’s kingdom first, not second or third or when it is convenient for us. When the world seems chaotic and undependable, God is still our rock. Therefore, do what is right in God’s eyes for He is watching and waiting. From His heavenly throne He sees everyone and knows what they are doing. Trust in His faithful love and be in awe of His majesty. He is our help in troubled times. Only God can give us victory and deliver us from our enemies. The Lord’s plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken. (Psalm 33:11) Remember when the Lord spoke out His Word and the world appeared at His command. (Genesis, chapter 1) He is the sovereign Ruler over all nations. So be glad and rejoice in the Lord all who obey Him, those who have been redeemed! Jesus is coming soon; blessed are those friends that He finds ready, who are serving Him and are not preoccupied with worldly things that will not last. The Son of Man will arrive… and He will send angels to gather His chosen ones… (Mark 13:26-27) Be ready, serving the Lord with a pure heart. The Apostle Paul’s earnest prayer, written to the church many years ago, is relevant for us today. “I pray to God your whole spirit, soul, and body would be kept blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus Christ comes again”. (1 Thessalonians 5:23) He knew that everything would be shaken. Be wise; be ready. The world around us will be shaken, but the redeemed will not be moved. Paul prayed often in the Spirit. For the Holy Spirit pleads on our behalf with groanings, not our own words, in harmony with God’s perfect will. (Romans 8:26) Our prayers of intercession move the hand of God who hears our cries and helps us. Put your trust in the Lord whose plans stand firm. He reigns above all nations on His holy throne. (Psalm 47:8)
