Intellectual transformation requires a new perspective and a change of mind. Spiritual transformation requires a change of heart. But how can one have spiritual transformation unless their spirit is made new? The Holy Spirit draws us to Jesus, and He comes into the hearts of those who confess Him as their Lord and Savior. Spiritual transformation brings us from death to life. This new spiritual life is a glorious gift of God who makes us brand new. We now have access to God in the Holy Place. Jesus becomes our constant Companion, and our spiritual journey begins. As we learn the Truth of the Word our minds are renewed (Romans 12:2). Unless we renew our minds with the truth, we'll agree with and follow the world's ways. There is great disparity between the ways of the godly and the ways of those who live by society’s standards. The Spirit and the Word washes and sanctifies believers and guides them on the path that leads to eternal life. Our thoughts and words begin to align with the truth. We receive wisdom, counsel, and revelation knowledge from the Holy Spirit. By God’s grace, we learn to put God first in our lives and experience the fullness of His covenant blessings. As we apply the Word, spiritual transformation takes place. Another vital step toward spiritual development is spending time in God's presence. Worship and prayer bring us up to the throne of God in the Holy Place. In His magnificent, awesome Presence, we are surrounded by His majesty, power, and glory and transformation takes place. The things of this world fade away in the glory of God’s radiant light. And as we stretch our faith and act on God’s promises, His amazing power is manifest in ways that are greater than anything we could have imagined. On the mountain tops and in the difficult valleys, the Lord is always by our side. We are truly transformed as He takes us by the hand and showers us with His love. Believers are exhorted to contend earnestly for the faith entrusted to them and beware of false teachers that have crept into the church (Jude 3,4). By the grace of God, we will be strong in our faith and become more like Him. Are you willing to open your heart and allow the Spirit of God to transform you?
