Passioinate Love

The passion of Christ was witnessed thousands of years ago as He hung on the cross. The crowd outside of Jerusalem watched as Jesus suffered in agony until He took His last breath. He redeemed mankind by His death and resurrection.  God forgives those who confess their sins and entrust their lives to Jesus, His Son.  Judgment on sin was forever satisfied by Christ’s death.  The power of Jesus’ passionate love for all men was revealed in God’s eternal plan.  He gave us a rich inheritance and life forever as His own children.  Jesus’ zeal for all men to be reconciled to God gave Him the strength to endure the suffering and obey God’s will.  Jesus is reigning in victory on His throne.  As children of God we must not be complacent in our service to Him or forget the cost of our redemption.  Keep the flame of faith alive in your heart and rejoice in the Lord always.  Ask yourself this, are you more passionate today in your pursuit of Christ and in His love for others than in the past? Is the fruit of the Spirit evident in your life or have you drifted far away from an intimate relationship with God?  As we mature and grow in the knowledge of the Lord, we will experience more love, joy and peace according to Galatians 5:22.  If we yield our lives to God, He will guide us continually.  Proverbs 2:4 tells us to pursue wisdom and search for it like hidden gold so we can gain the knowledge of God. God reveals Himself in greater measure to those who are in passionate pursuit of Him.  The world offers us many distractions. Our overloaded schedules bring stress and anxiety personally and in strained family relationships.  When other things take center place in our lives, we lose our inner peace and joy. Prayerfully consider redirecting priorities with God being at the center.  Every step we take toward intimate fellowship with the Almighty, who loves us more than we can imagine, is significant.  The Apostle Paul said he counted all that he lost (giving up his former way of life) as nothing compared to the excellence of knowing Christ (Philippians 3:7-9).  Stir up that fire for God and rekindle the flame that was lit in your heart when you asked Jesus to be your Savior.  A heart that has a passionate love for God will receive a rich, eternal inheritance and many blessings in this life.  Our Father longs to shower us with His extraordinary love.
