New Year Expectations

As this new year begins, we must remember that our future is in God’s hands. So let go of the past and look to the new year with hopeful expectation of God’s goodness in your life. His heart is to bless and prosper His people in spirit, soul, and body. He longs to show us His unfailing, unconditional love. The Father has great compassion for His children and protects those who are loyal to Him. God told His people, Israel, that obedience is better than sacrifice. If we walk in the fear of the Lord and reverence Him with a true heart, we will honor and obey His Word.

This year, as always, it is essential to spend time in God’s presence. Make a commitment to the Lord to set aside quality time for the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Give God your quiet, uninterrupted attention, even if only for fifteen minutes or half an hour a day. Be still and wait for His voice. The Spirit of God is invisible, but He is mighty and has unlimited wisdom, knowledge, and insight to give to those who are paying attention. David declared in Psalm 31:15-16, “My future is in Your hands. Rescue me from those who hunt me down relentlessly. Let Your favor shine on your servant. In Your unfailing love, save me.” In times of distress and decision-making, always turn to the Lord like David did. He declared that his future was in God’s hands, not his enemies’ hands. David trusted the Lord. Therefore, with hopeful expectation, he was able to take a courageous stand. God is a protective Shield around us, and He rescues us from trouble.

This will be a year of change, challenges, and victories. God is with us, leading us in triumph. Be hopeful. Be strong and take courage. Those who know the Lord are hidden in the Secret Place of the Most High, El Elyon. Our future is secure both now and forevermore. Praise the Lord and give Him all the glory! May God fill your heart with hopeful expectation of good things to come. May He fill you with joy. Join me in this prayer: Lord make me hungry for more of You. I know my future is in Your hands. Give me a true heart to fear and obey You only. I am looking forward to receiving all the blessings that you have for me this year. Thank you for Your unfailing love.
