Everyone likes to receive benefits. People try to meet their needs cost effectively by using coupons. Some join clubs to get exclusive member benefits and discounts. Everyone would like great "perks" on their job such as a car allowance. God gives many free, priceless benefits to all believers. Through the sacrifice of Jesus and our faith in Him, these extravagant benefits belong to every child of God. Colossians 1 reveals an amazing truth; God offers us redemption from the power of darkness and forgiveness of sins by the blood of Jesus. Sin is not our master any longer when we invite Jesus to be our Savior. Believers are reconciled to God through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross; we are purchased with a heavy price that Jesus paid in full. If we put our faith in His completed work and accept the gift of salvation He offers us, we have eternal life. It's nothing we can earn or buy. That means we inherit the kingdom of God and every blessing He promised us as His beloved children. We all know that we have sinned, yet Jesus presents believers as holy and blameless in God's presence without fear of judgment. As children of God we're clothed with a robe of His righteousness. 2 Peter 1:4 tells us that, in Christ, we've become "partakers of His divine nature ". Our hearts rejoice in the extraordinary blessings of being heirs with Christ. Now we are to live our lives in a way that pleases Him and not ourselves. Our gratitude is shown by our love for God and others. With thankful hearts we lift our eyes to heaven and worship Him. We enjoy all the benefits of a personal relationship with the Most High God, El Elyon! Believers are adopted into God's family and are complete in Christ who has authority over all things, Colossians 2:10. Our hope is alive, and our future is bright. There are many awesome benefits of knowing God. Search the Word and declare each benefit that's been given to you as God's very precious child.
