WFR supports jail ministry that has impacted the lives of many inmates. Many men and women who have hit bottom through drugs, alcohol, involvement with gangs, crime, prostitution and other destructive lifestyles have found hope in Jesus Christ. When they hear that there is a Savior who loves them unconditionally, the truth begins to work in their hearts. A seed is planted. We’ve heard many personal stories of men and women in jail who opened their hearts and accepted Jesus’ amazing love and forgiveness. One inmate recently told how he was incarcerated for six years. He was raised in a broken home and was hurting as boy without his parents. When he got involved with gangs and drugs, he lost his friends and everything started getting worse. It took years, but he finally realized that God was on his side. He was desperate for a change and gave his life to Jesus. Now he enjoys reading the Bible and knows that God is always protecting him. He said, “I walk with God and He walks with me always and gives me peace of mind”. This prodigal son came home and God welcomed him with open arms. We give God the glory for the glorious work that He is doing in the hearts of men and women who are incarcerated.
