WFR's project with Wings of Faith Ministries and founder, Dale Whinery was a great success!
Water From the Rock wants to thank our partners and friends for their generous support that made it possible for us to give a gift of $2500 to Wings of Faith Ministries for the Paiute - Shoshone Indian Reservation in Bishop, CA. Pete, Rhet, and our friend, Joan, traveled there on May 9 - 11, 2009 to meet Native American Pastor Stan Summers and his church members at House of Mercy Pentecostal Church on the Reservation. When we arrived, Stan was just leaving to meet Dale and Tom at the small Bishop Airport so we went along and met them at the plane and loaded goods for the Res. on the truck.
WFR also donated 5 boxes of schools supplies & Sunday school curriculum for the children and 200 Daily Bread devotionals. Then we went back to the Res. to see the progress on their beautiful new church building which is under construction that will seat 100 people and will be dedicated in September 2009.
Pastor Stan is also a traveling evangelist in the summer and holds tent meetings on various Indian Reservations. We are praying for revival! On Sunday morning we met his church members, and they are the most gracious, loving people. Pastor Stan invited Pete and I to minister at the Sunday evening service. Rhet joined in the worship with Stan's acoustic guitar, Stan on electric, his daughter Janine on piano and a great drummer. Then we shared a message and ministered to men, women & children who came up for prayer after the service. Praise God - we saw the Lord's goodness and experienced Jesus' great love first hand in a way that changed all our of lives. Thank you Pastor Stan & House of Mercy Pentecostal Church for graciously welcoming us!
