Guilt or Grace

It’s true that Christians have been set free from sin.  Romans 6:14 says that sin no longer has dominion over us.  Jesus dealt with every sin at the cross.  Christians are under a new covenant of grace.  Yet people often struggle with guilt because of their sins and past failures.  Remember that Jesus covered every believer with His own righteousness, so we are made righteous and qualified to enter into God’s eternal kingdom as joint heirs.  There is no condemnation coming from God (Romans 8:1), and we must resist the devil.  Praise the Lord who loves us unconditionally.  Jesus died for every sin - past, present, and future.  His righteous blood redeemed us and makes us brand new.  If we sin, the Holy Spirit will gently convict us of wrongdoing so we can receive forgiveness by confessing any sin and turning back to God.  Condemnation is the devil’s weapon to bring feelings of shame and guilt for our sins.  Resist condemnation and refuse to feel defeated in life for Jesus Christ knows our weaknesses and gives us His strength to overcome.  Grace always protects us like a shield.  Grace is God’s beautiful gift to His children.  Ephesians 1:7, "... we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace."  Trusting God's grace, we let go of guilt and shame.  Learn to proclaim God’s Word that says you are His workmanship, a marvelous masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works and that nothing is impossible with God. Ephesians 2:10 and Matthew 19:26.  Activate your faith and guard your heart.  God’s unfailing love surrounds us.  He desires for us to live in His amazing grace and the freedom Jesus paid for on the cross.  A preacher once said, “Grace is God’s overwhelming desire to treat you as if you had never sinned.”  His love is extraordinary!  Let that sink deep into your soul.
