It’s essential to have godly leaders governing the people. God said that the righteous are blessed and live in peace and safety when there are leaders who fear and obey Him. Prov 11:14 Therefore, continually pray for those in authority over you according to the Word in 1 Tim 2:2. Pray with requests and intercessions with thanksgiving on behalf of all who are in leadership over you. Our president, congress, judges, governors, mayors, administrator of education, church leaders and others are included in these vital prayers. We ask God to give us peace and that we may live in safety. We ask for freedom to share the Gospel and to have Bibles in our school libraries and classrooms. We ask for wisdom and integrity for all our country’s leaders and judges and for morality and a deep reverence for God. The church is a house of prayer for all nations. King Josiah turned Israel back to God through his reverence and obedience to God although they had become a nation of idol worshipers. They followed his example and repented of their sins. Then God brought a glorious revival and blessed Israel. Make a commitment to pray daily for the Lord to open the eyes of our leaders to the Truth. Those who follow the Lord will leave a legacy that will benefit future generations. The Lord told us to remember His goodness and mercy and tell our children and grandchildren about the miracles He has done for us. It is our duty to teach our children how to pray for our leaders as well.
