Facing the Giant

Our lives are fragile and sometimes circumstances make us feel defeated.  We find that we’re not prepared for unexpected trials that invade our lives.  Worry can press in on us and anxious thought can consume our minds.  Many things that seemed to be in our control can suddenly become out of control bringing confusion, depression, or fear.  However, in every situation, God’s tender mercies are with us.  He is always in control, and His love is deeper than the oceans.  Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything, but through prayer with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God”.  Start to pray and thank God before you see the answers to your problems.  That is living in faith.  We fix our thoughts on God’s love and faithfulness and refuse fear when it comes knocking. The Lord is our strength and He will help us.  David, the shepherd boy, heard that Israel was facing an enemy army.  No one in Israel’s army would dare face the giant, Goliath, who taunted them daily with curses and threats.  David’s older brothers were in the army and were as fearful as the rest.  When he came to bring them food and saw what the enemy was doing, he made a bold declaration.  David said he would go and face Goliath himself and that God would go with him.  Fearless!  David had already experienced God’s mighty power and miraculous help when he was in great danger in the fields with his sheep.  Both armies watched this young shepherd run toward the giant and thought that he would surely die.  1Samuel 17:45 says, “David shouted at Goliath, ‘I come to you in the Name of the Lord Almighty… today I will kill you!’”  David faced the fully armed giant with only a slingshot and stone and killed him.  He gave God the glory for this great victory.  The battle is the Lord’s, not ours.  Trust God to give you a miraculous victory.  Face the giant without fear and go in the Lord’s mighty power. He will defeat your enemies.  Speak His Word over your circumstances and ask God to protect you.  Read more about David’s incredible victory in 1Samuel 17.  God gave wise counsel to Joshua, a leader of Israel, as they were about to go to battle to protect their loved ones.  “…Be strong and courageous; don’t be afraid or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”, Joshua 1:9.  God is telling you today, be strong and courageous, for I AM with you.  Share your recent story of victory with us and let God be glorified.  Click on News/Blog.

This past month there's been a lot of 'giants' we face. No one understood the terrible effects of a pandemic until it crept into our lives. Remember that God is with you and He will help you. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
