FAITH NOT FEAR
Do you ever feel greatly outnumbered or overwhelmed with trying circumstances? Are there sleepless nights and unanswered questions, "How did I get into this mess?". Imagine an entire army of highly trained soldiers coming to destroy your city, your family, friends, house, and life as you know it. That's what King Hezekiah faced when the kings of Assyria marched down to Jerusalem with a mighty, powerful army of fierce, fight-to-the-death warriors that brought fear into the people's hearts. This was a time of testing. King Hezekiah encouraged his own people and military officers with these words: "Be strong and courageous! Don't be afraid of the king of Assyria or his mighty army, for there is a power far greater on our side! He may have a great army, but they're just men. We have the LORD our GOD to help us and to fight our battles for us!" These words of faith greatly encouraged the people. Faith took over and fear left because King Hezekiah reminded them that God's power is higher than any mere man or mighty army. When the Assyrians attacked, the Lord sent an angel to destroy the entire Assyrian army and rescused His people. That is power! Put your faith in God, and He will rescue you. Read 2 Chronicles 32 for details of the victory.
