Covering Over Sins

“People who cover over their sins will not prosper.  But if they admit their sins and confess them and turn away from wrong doing, they will receive mercy from the Lord.”  Proverbs 28:13-14  Denial is a temporary cover for wrong doing.  It feels good to deny wrong doing or take no responsibility for a fault.  Sin or ill-gotten gain can seem prosperous for a while.  But God is not mocked.  His justice always wins out.  Some people tend to think He doesn’t see everything or know all the truth about them.  That’s because they have no fear of God, no humble reverence or honor for the Lord.  In the end, people who cover their sins will lose everything.  But those who fear the Lord will have great blessings.  Follow the conviction of the Spirit of God and confess wrong doing.  Those who stubbornly cover up their sins are headed for serious trouble.  To confess sin is to let go of pride and walk in freedom being ready to receive God’s mercy, love, and forgiveness.  God’s desire is that people turn away from their sins and receive His abundant blessings.
