Although God’s benefits are for all His children, there are many people who don’t know God or have not opened their hearts to Him. As I prayed recently with some precious women at a local shelter home, it was evident that they knew about the Father’s love. But as I listened to one young lady’s heart breaking story, it was obvious that it wasn’t always so for her. Once in darkness and despair, she was trying to survive on the streets. Pregnant and homeless, she was addicted to drugs and would do anything to get high. She had hit bottom, and someone reached out a hand to help her. Love changes things, and slowly her life turned around. The women at the shelter gave her a place of safety, she got off drugs, and started going to church and read her Bible. This was all new to her, but she stayed at the shelter and soon she had a healthy baby. These women were God’s hands and feet as they cared for her in her brokenness. WFR supports this shelter house as well as other ministries that reach out to the lost in Jesus’ Name. Some are addicted to drugs, have been incarcerated, or abused. But God’s love is healing lost and hurting people. That young lady accepted the Lord as her Savior and later got married. She had another sweet baby girl named Esther, who I held in my arms. What an amazing work God has done for this family that is now serving Him.
