We are in the week of the last fall Feast of Sukkot, a season of great Joy. We are grateful to God for the autumn harvest of the year and for the glorious harvest of souls. Rejoice in the Lord and give Him praise as we celebrate the Feast of Booths or tabernacles. God will bring in a harvest of men through His Son, Jesus, during the "year of His favor". The Jews remember God's miraculous provision and protection for 40 years in the desert when He dwelt, or tabernacled, with them. Jesus is our High Priest who came in the flesh and tabernacled among us (John 1:14). The Sukkah is a temporary dwelling made of branches. We remember that our true home is in God’s kingdom. One Jewish tradition is to make a wave offering and say a Hallel or prayer, saying "Hosha na!", meaning, "God save us!". In these last days, the world will cry out for a Savior. Salvation is open to all men through Jesus, the Messiah. God provided shade in the wilderness heat and manna, angels’ food, in the wilderness. But Jesus said, "I AM the true Bread from heaven; I AM the Light of the world.". As we pray for our families and friends to come to salvation in Christ, thank Him for His wonderful mercy. The fullness of the abundant harvest will be splendid as the Holy Spirit moves mightily in harmony with Jesus, our High Priest, to bring in the final harvest. This is a season of great celebration and rejoicing before the Lord.
